Gold Tailings Recovery Undertakings

Petrochemical Holding GmbH is developing an international platform for recovering gold from historic mine tailings, dumps and stockpiled ores. Large volumes of material that were previously uneconomic to process can now represent a valuable secondary resource.

Each asset will be assessed individually, with the processing route selected according to its composition, recovery potential, economics and environmental requirements. This approach can be applied to residual tailings, unprocessed oxide ores and other overlooked resources.

Reprocessing existing mining waste can provide a faster and less capital-intensive route to production than developing a new mine. It also creates opportunities to recover additional value from disturbed sites, reduce environmental liabilities and support land rehabilitation.

PCH combines experience in sodium cyanide with access to alternative processing technologies, including glycine leaching and emerging cyanide-free solutions. The objective is to develop scalable projects that improve gold recovery while meeting commercial and environmental requirements.
